oops

Spent Tuesday running errands after recovering from slight illness.
And I forgot to post, first time in awhile.  Visited the historical society and received a copy of the pigeon memorial photo, I hope to finish the painting today.  Hopefully I will have more photos for tomorrow.

85-45

Quite a change in the weather from sweltering to wondering if we should turn the heat back on.  The yard is growing into a jungle overnight.
It must be spring.

Green and damp

Glowing green canopy of foliage encasing the gray, damp day; a good day for a light read or a cozy show.

Wonder

The mass of green foliage is cresting over the yard like a great wave, the dawn sky is flushed with pink,  the tiny lily of the valley belies its expansive perfume.

Mother's Day

A lovely, breezy, bright morning.  Cut a few lily of the valley for the table, so rich in fragrance.  The yard awaits us all lush and overblown from the rains this week.  Time for trimming and grooming and cutting and clearing.

Saturday morning

A break between the storms.  Yesterday was a whirlwind of cleaning, today I am baking and quilting.
The orange-cran blueberry muffins are cooling on the stovetop.  During the 20 minute baking time 34 more pieces of the quilt were sewn, the photo gives a hint of things to come.

Been exploring the idea of painting shells, took this photo as a try-out.

What to paint?

My Thursday question, what to paint today?  A scene in the town, the glow of the spring trees, a sedate shell on a shelf?  We shall see.

The bleeding hearts are blooming

We are enjoying a long cool spring with the flowers lush and long blooming.

Bit of a bug but nice opening

Had a bit of a virus yesterday, not at my best, but still a nice opening.  Nice to see all the artist members and work.  It turned out to be quite a nice day, but I spent most of it lying about in my housecoat.  Feeling perkier today, up and working about the house preparing to quilt in a mo.

Lovely yesterday

Spent the morning a the end of the lake, marsh walking.  So many wildflowers, birds, fish and tadpoles to delight us. We watched a pair of crows bedevil a young osprey, saw three wood ducks in flight and listened to the song sparrows and cat birds in the trees.  The May Apples are in bud, the trout lilies just finished, but the spring beauties, jack in the pulpits, buttercups and wild geraniums were putting on quite a show.
