An assemblage

Created this after being inspired by a video by Loran Hill on the wheel of life, honoring the seasons, the directions and the 4 members of our nuclear family, and the energy moving thru it all.

Yesterday

I played my singing bowl for a friend going thru a scary dental procedure, it sang sweetly.

Spring snow

From morning to night but mostly melting on the roadway, whitening the grass and the bamboo.

Back in the teens

Spring is trying to reach us, but woke up with it in the teens again this morning and snow in the forecast for tomorrow.  It is slow going this year.

Commotion

Yesterday was taken up with another car disabled and major dental appointment and oh my, but ended with a good night's sleep and today dawning bright and with bird song.

All's well that ends well

Blessedly headache free, car is back on the road, even managed to do laundry and get groceries yesterday amidst the chaos.  So today I am free to explore, for tomorrow an appointment with a new dentist to see if a tooth is in trouble.

change of plans

Got out to my car to go to last class and no go, so AAA and the mechanics were on the schedule instead.  Waiting to hear what next.  Also fighting a bad headache for the first time in ages, ouch.

Sunday morning

A gentle dawn, coffee brewing, tea steeping, cranberry-orange-pecan muffins baking.  Cat  and birds fed, house slumbering and rising, heart beating steadily.

New play

The last post was pastels, watercolor pencils, dual brush pens and gel pens.  Below is my fist try with water soluble wax pastels, great for layering and smoothing.

An uptick

While the clock jumps ahead, we have enjoyed a bit of weather above the freezing mark and today I saw a meadow of snowdrops blooming, hooray, there is a spring!

Trying lots of new things

I am exploring new mediums, like water based oils, new ways of expression, interpretation visually of word definitions, new juxtapositions, very freeing.

Spectrum 2014

An amazing collaborative workshop, playful and heartfelt. Pushing the boundaries a bit more each day.

Phew

Grateful for the cold front pushing most of the snow further south, so only 4-5 inches here. The spectrum workshops are amazingly good, so well done and inspiring.
Almost finished the quilt binding, maybe today.

Today

There is the beauty of the moment
      and of the moment gone.
I do not know which to prefer,
      The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendos,
     The blackbird whistling
          Or just after.

In like a lion

Sunny and cold this morning, but Titan is due to make an appearance in the next couple of days with a half foot or more of snow and ice in the forecast, in like a lion!  Also excited about Spectrum starting today, I can hardly wait.  Almost ready to start binding the baby's quilt, hopefully I will finish up with that over the weekend watching new Elementary and Oscar's red carpet and Under the Gunn, while the storms come in. March is a wild ride.
