Cranberry-apple orange walnut flax muffins

Baked a dozen muffins this morning before it got too hot.  Last night we had pasta primavera and organic watermelon slices. 

New recipe

Made a fresh peach puff pancake for brunch yesterday.  I melted a tablespoon of butter in a cast iron pan in the oven at 400 degrees, then sliced a fresh piece thinly and evenly  in the bottom of the pan and sprinkled with with brown sugar.  I made a batter of 3 eggs, a half a cup of milk, a pinch of salt and a half cup of flour whisked together and poured this over the peaches, and baked the whole for 25 minutes.  Yummy!

Spent yesterday, cooking-an organic veggie quiche, cleaning-dusting mopping, vacuuming and straightening.  Also corresponding for various matters and quilting, the 150th anniversary Civil War quilt, appliqued stems.  Today I construct flowers and hopefully applique them to the blocks.

Off on a tiny adventure

Had a lovely lunch at J's cafe in Westminster yesterday, my first trip in quite awhile.  I have been staying close to home, this was a trial run.  Wore us out but back okay.
Now I need to get back to work.

After the 4th

The weather man says we are heading into the dog days, 80 at 8 this morning and a heat wave predicted for the week.  Did not get any quilting done yesterday, should have worked on some embroidery that would have been cooler.  Need to take a photo of 54-40 or fight quilt, maybe today.

Almost the 4th

Odd weather here, still in this monsoonal flow with lots of cloudy days, fortunately the rain has stayed away for awhile to let the ground dry a bit.  Lots of quilting getting accomplished, a reveal in a bit.
